MISSIONS
AND U
The Missions Ministry Team will be offering various mission opportunities for church
participants in the days ahead. The Baptist Men, under the leadership of Dave Cole, will be scheduling
projects at Eagle Eyrie. The Men's Ministry, under the leadership of Michael King, will schedule
a seminar on No Man Left Behind. Brian Conyers, son of Meade Conyers and who grew up in
Chester Baptist Church, and his family, are serving as church planters with NAMB in Vermont. We hope
to set up some projects to help them out.
The church started an after-school Bible Club
at Elizabeth Scott Elementary School in Enon that meets on Thursday afternoons. Michael King heads up
a team of workers. A partnership between Virginia Baptists and the country of Panama is being established
and groups will be given the opportunity to go in 2011. A new partnership in Southwest Virginia (Appalachia)
will enable Virginia Baptist to more intentionally support the mission efforts of our brothers and sisters
there, working with Tony and Jan Johnson who will serve as volunteer coordinators. The youth group is
planning some missions activities this summer.
