Currently Chester Baptist is engaged in missions in the following ways:
We are a BGAV church. Our monthly contributions to the Virginia Baptists go towards the support of missionaries both in the US and internationally. These funds go towards church planting, meeting the immediate needs of the poor and marginalized, and aid in appropriate gospel-centered justice ministries.
The church will receive two annual offering that coincide with the holiday seasons. We give to two traditional baptist offerings, the Lottie Moon offering which supports international missions through the IMB (the International Missions Board) and the Annie Armstrong offering which supports missions in the States through the NAMB (the North American Mission Board).
Our church also contributes monthly to the Middle District Baptist Association. Through the missional efforts of the association several local ministries are supported in RVA and connecting counties. Through this association we partner with other churches in their missional endeavors as immediate needs arise in their missional efforts.
We are a support partner of CCHASM (Chesterfield Colonial Heights Alliance for Social Ministry) is a non-profit organization providing access to food, utility bill financial assistance, and educational resources to area residents in Chesterfield County, Colonial Heights, Dinwiddie, Hopewell, Petersburg, and Prince George, Virginia.
Our church has an internal local missions projects:
The "Backpack Program" provides meals for local elementary students throughout the school year on the weekends. We partner with two local elementary schools and their administration to provide weekend food for those students who have been identified as having that need.
The "Southwest Virginia Mission" provides shoes, clothing, toiletries, school supplies to the families in need deep in the Appalachian Mountain region of our state. There are collections throughout the year and a team from our church delivers directly to those in need.
